Des Tuniit aux Inuits, Patrimoines archéologique et historique au Nunavik
This book presents the findings of the three-year ARUC “Des Tuniit aux Inuits” research project. The book is subdivided into three parts: the first focuses on the archaeological onsite activities in the three regions under review (i.e., Salluit, Kangiqsujuaq and Quaqtaq). The second addresses in-laboratory projects and new approaches, especially the study of sources of raw materials and their use, a text on the archaeozoology of a Thule/Inuit site and two texts on the paleoenvironment of the region under study. The third and final part deals with Qajartalik’s petroglyph site. Discussions are also held on academic experiences in the Inuit milieu and particularly on the establishment of an archaeological excavation school for Nunavik schoolteachers.
